Why Instagram saves never come back

Instagram's save button is great for stashing things. Your saves turn into a grid of thumbnails, with no titles and no search inside. You can make named collections, but you have to choose one the moment you save, mid-scroll.

And nothing ever asks you anything. The recipe from March is still there, next to yesterday's meme, waiting for a Sunday that never comes. The folder was built for keeping things, not for coming back to them.

What changes when the post goes to Pulogo

Once you send it to Pulogo, it builds the link preview, gives it a title and a category (recipe, place, workout, shopping, study, travel) and shows which step it's on. If something goes wrong, the save shows up with the reason. It never vanishes silently.

Then it goes into triage. A short queue, with the reason for each card, and three ways out: Do sends it to your To do list, Keep brings it back in a few days, Let go archives it in Let go, where one tap brings it back.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open the Reel or post

It can be something you just saw or something that's already in your saved posts.

  2. 2

    Tap share

It's the paper airplane under the post. In the panel that opens, look for the option that brings up the iPhone share sheet. The name varies between Instagram versions: sometimes it's "Share to…", sometimes it's a square icon with an arrow.

  3. 3

    Choose Pulogo

In the row of apps, tap Pulogo. If it's not there, tap More and turn Pulogo on once. After that it stays in the row.

  4. 4

    Done

"Saved to Pulogo" appears and the panel closes. If something goes wrong, Pulogo tells you right away.

What happens next

Open Pulogo and the save is already there, showing which processing step it's on. When it's done, it goes to the Library, in the right category list, and into your triage.

Whatever you mark as Do lands in To do, on the Today tab. When it happens, mark it Done. The weekly recap counts what made it off your phone.

Tips

  • Copying the link works too

In Instagram's share panel, tap Copy link and paste it into Pulogo's field for pasting a link or screenshot.

  • A screenshot counts

If you gave access to your photos, new screenshots come into Pulogo from your library. Handy for stories, which disappear in 24 hours.

  • Private accounts

If the link preview won't load, as can happen with private profiles, take a screenshot. The text is read right here on your iPhone.

  • What about old saves?

Posts already in your saved folder come in through Instagram's official data file. See the Import page: a sample of 20 is free, the rest is Pro.
